How it works
How windowswindsor.com connects you with local glass pros
Describe the window, door, screen or glass problem, anywhere in Windsor-Essex. We pass it to an independent pro in your area who does that sort of job. That pro prices it for you and, if you agree, does the job. We don't sell, measure or fit anything, and there's no charge to send a request. Our part is making sure somebody gets back to you.
A referral service, not a window company
Every quote and every job comes from an independent local professional, not from us. That pro measures, prices and does the work, and any contract or warranty is between the two of you.
We don't sell glass or windows, so we've no stake in whether a blown seal ends in a defog, new thermal glass or a full replacement. The pro recommends; you decide. Small jobs travel the same road: one screen, a single pane, a sash balance or a mirror to cut gets passed on like a houseful of replacements.
What happens once you hit send
Your details go to one or more pros who serve your area
We pass along your name, phone, email, address, what you told us and your photos to independent pros who take that kind of job and cover your part of Windsor or the County. The privacy policy explains exactly what's shared and why.
They contact you
Expect a call or an email about size, glass type and access, or to book a look. A clear photo can get a first price on one pane; a whole window or patio door nearly always needs measuring.
You choose, or walk away
There's no obligation. Around Windsor-Essex, the complaint you hear most is the message nobody returns. We can't set a pro's prices or schedule, but we confirm someone picked your request up and, if it stalled, send it along again. Heard nothing? Tell us.
What to ask any installer in Windsor-Essex
WSIB and liability insurance
Ask whether they carry WSIB coverage and liability insurance, and ask to see proof before work starts.
An itemized written quote
Glass, labour, removal, disposal, trim and HST, each on its own line. If you're applying for a City CIP grant, the application asks for two contractor estimates; our grants guide has the details.
Why there's no licence number to check
Certification in Ontario's glazier trade, the Architectural Glass and Metal Technician, is voluntary. The City of Windsor's business licences for building trades cover heating and plumbing, not glass or windows. So insurance, WSIB and a clear written quote are what to look for.
Your rights on a home contract in Ontario
General information only; for your own situation, ask a lawyer. Sign a contract in your own home and Ontario generally gives you a 10-day cooling-off period to cancel for any reason, counted from when you get your written copy. Under the Consumer Protection Act, a supplier can bill only a little over a written estimate unless you accept the higher amount.
Short answers
How are pros chosen for my request? By the kind of job and where you are: a shower door goes to someone who does shower glass, a storefront to someone who does commercial work. We don't rank or inspect pros, so the questions above matter.
Will a pro push new windows when I only need glass? Some might. If a quote jumps straight to replacement, ask why the frame can't be kept. The FAQ page has more, and the terms of use spell out the fine print.
Ready when you are: send the request, and it goes to an independent local pro
A few words and a photo from your phone are plenty. Say what's wrong and whereabouts in Windsor-Essex you are.
